WHAT HAPPENED?
A large cheer went up inside Centre Court as Trent Alexander-Arnold stroked home the winning spot kick to beat Switzerland 5-3 on penalties. Djokovic and Kopriva humoured the crowd and allowed the English fans a chance to revel in progressing to the semi-final before continuing their match.

England have progressed to the semi-finals in a major tournament for the third time in four attempts under Gareth Southgate. It is also just the second time that England have won a game on penalties in the European Championship, having last beaten Spain in Euro 96. Djokovic and Kopriva can forgive the England fans in the crowd for celebrating.
